Sixty-two projects were shown over two days by classes VI to XII. Instead of inviting a chief guest we asked eleven parents who work in engineering, medicine and statistics to judge, and gave them a written rubric a week beforehand.
The rubric had four headings: whether the question was worth asking, whether the method could answer it, whether the child could explain the result without the poster, and whether anything had been measured rather than looked up.
