VidyaOS Demo School (not a real school) — About Us
About Us
How the school started in 1984, how it is governed today, and what it is not — an international school, a coaching centre, or IB or Cambridge.
The school opened in July 1984 with 84 students in four rented rooms on Sector 8 market road, and moved to the present four-acre site in 1991. Senior secondary classes were added in 1996 after the CBSE upgradation, and the science block was rebuilt in 2018.
How the school is governed
St Mary’s is run by the St Mary’s Educational Society, a registered society with no shareholders and no dividend. Surplus is retained and spent on the campus; the accounts are audited annually and the audit report is available to any parent on request at the school office.
The School Management Committee meets four times a year and includes two elected parent representatives and two elected teacher representatives, as the CBSE bye-laws require.
What we are not
We are not an international school and we do not offer the IB or the Cambridge curriculum. We are not a coaching centre and we do not publish JEE or NEET rank lists as though they were school results. We do not have a swimming pool.
Houses
The four houses
Every student joins a house in Class I and stays in it until Class XII. Siblings are placed in the same house.
Steady and deep
Older than the rest
Above the cloud line
Cutting through
