How the 25% RTE quota at Nursery and Class I actually works — filled by the Directorate's own draw, not by the school.
Twenty-five per cent of the entry-level seats — Nursery and Class I — are reserved for children from economically weaker sections and disadvantaged groups under Section 12(1)(c) of the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009. The seats are filled through the Directorate of Education’s own computerised draw, not by the school, and the school cannot add, remove or reorder names on that list.
What the school still handles
Document verification, once the Directorate allots a seat, and the fee-reimbursement claim the Directorate owes the school each year for every RTE seat filled.

Questions about the RTE quota
Does the school run its own RTE admission process?
No. Apply directly on the Directorate of Education’s own portal during the window it announces each year, usually alongside the general Nursery admission window. The school only receives the list the Directorate allots.
Is there any fee for an RTE seat?
None. Tuition, books and uniform are free for the full duration of elementary education, and the school claims reimbursement from the government rather than the parent.
