VidyaOS Demo School (not a real school)Boarding

Boarding

A forty-place hostel for Classes IX to XII, for children whose parents are posted away from Delhi mid-session — not a residential campus.

Boarding

A small hostel, for a specific need

St Mary’s is a day school first. The hostel exists for one reason: children whose parents are in the armed forces, the railways or a transferable central government posting away from Delhi mid-session. It opened in 2015 with forty places for Classes IX to XII, in a separate wing with its own gate and a resident warden.

It is not a residential campus in the boarding-school sense — there is no junior boarding, and a weekend home visit is the default rather than the exception.

Facilities

Inside the hostel

Forty places, Classes IX to XII, boys and girls in separate floors.

Dormitories

Eight rooms of five, one warden on duty per floor through the night.

Dining hall

Shared with day boarders at lunch; a separate dinner service after prep.

Study hall

Supervised prep, 6 to 8 p.m., with a subject teacher on call two evenings a week.

Infirmary

Adjoins the school medical room; the same nurse covers both.

Questions

Questions parents ask about boarding

Can a day scholar board temporarily?

Yes, subject to space — this happens most often when a parent travels for a few weeks. Ring the warden’s office at least a week ahead.

What are visiting hours?

Sunday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., in the hostel’s own visitors’ room. A parent may take a boarder out for the afternoon with a signed note to the warden.

Speak to the warden

The hostel fee, current vacancies and the admission process for a boarding place are handled separately from day admission.
